First elected in 2015, Linda has served in the Assessor’s Office for over 29 years. Under her leadership, the Assessor’s Office is in the process of implementing state-of-the-art appraisal and administrative software. Additionally, she led the way developing a new online tax calculator tool that has greatly improved property tax transparency for property owners.

While serving as Assessor, Hjelle has been an unwavering advocate for Snohomish County residents, testifying in Olympia on their behalf, and by serving as Appraisal Committee Chair for the Washington State Association of County Assessors and as an elected Board Member for the Washington Association of County Officials.

Hjelle previously served as Chief Deputy Assessor and was instrumental in implementing cost-saving techniques and efficiency reviews, utilizing the latest developments in technology to improve accuracy and better serve residents.

Hjelle is also a dedicated community leader who is a member of numerous local organizations and volunteer efforts including Soroptimists, League of Women Voters, Fire District 17 Christmas House, National Women's Political Caucus, and the Granville Grange.

A life-long Washingtonian, Hjelle lives outside Granite Falls with her husband, Rick who is a retired Snohomish County career firefighter. They have one grown son.
